The Burlington Hotel was built in 1891 for passengers of the Burlington Northern Railroad and is included on the Wisconsin and National Register of Historical Sites.

The Belle Room was named for the owner's mother (her middle name is Ida Belle) as well as the French theme and colors. Belle means "beautiful".

The Emma Room is named after the owner's paternal grandmother and decorated with a pineapple log cabin wall hanging because of her expertise in baking. A favorite was pineapple upside-down cake. Emma's favorite color was aqua, providing the basis of the color scheme.

This room is named the Queen Bee because of hosting teachers when the shop was initially opened. The owner wanted them to know they are special and leaders of their classes. Now this room has been updated and welcomes all, teachers or not.
